Glacial23 - Charon (SQL020)

Cleveland, OH native producer and DJ Glacial23 provides us with woozy and dreamy synth parts mixed with precision programming in a palatable techno / house format. Charon picks up where his 'Runout' LP left off, providing all the goodies from melancholic bass-lines to acid trips.

Charon is a dreamy, melancholy number with a groovy bass-line. Fans of Fort Romeau will be highly intrigued.

Planetary is a dark and techy stepper, with an added touch of industrial-grade ambient fx and minimalist focused drum programming.

Kadillak is an expression of the darker, more acid-tinged side of Glacial23. Compressed and hissy drums intertwine with a woozy 303 lead and the artists vocal sampling seems to pull the listener even deeper.

Charon Dub takes the more atmospheric elements of the original, transition a club focused track into more cerebral territory.

Interferon's take on Charon is a hard hitting track fit for peak hour. Stuttering drum programming mix with consistent barrages of kick drums, making it a great DJ tool and high energy track.

J. Prez comes full circle with an excellent remix of Planetary, and we slow things down a bit and allow space to breathe and end the album on a full tilt expressive experience. It's all here on this one.
